After the cancelation of Rico’s fest in Germany [Maximum Destruction], one of three UNDERDOG shows in Europe got cancelled and one third of the income with it. There was some interest of other parties in taking over the show but none could meet the demands necessary. This means that there is no other option than to cancel the whole weekend. The Liverpool gig is off. If you bought tickets for the show you can get a refund from the point of purchase.

Sucks but not to worry. See you at Christmas.

Right, so it’s been a while, I know but here’s the update all you non-MySpace types have been after.

The word on the street is that Abandon Ship have taken a hiatus from live gigging to write and record a new album. We’re trying to get another record done hopefully before the New Year. So yeah, we’re not playing gigs for a bit (bar the one mentioned below). I do hope to arrange a Christmas Party in Brighton so stay tuned for that.

Other than that, we’re currently in the process of breaking in a new bass player. I won’t say too much at the moment as it’s early days and for all I know, if I mention his name, it’ll be Sod’s Law that he ends up clearing off before he’s even played a gig.

The most major news you need to know for now is that 1) we have a CD coming out REALLY soon and b) we’re playing with Underdog in Liverpool in October.

The CD is compilation of all our vinyl output and a track that appeared on a comp. It’s been titled Good As Gold and has been produced as a reaction to people asking whether we were going to do a CD. All those people, you’d better buy this. We’ve done it especially for you.

The content of the CD cromprises of tracks from the Untitled 7″, the ‘Til I Burst one-sided 12″, the 7″ split with The Permanent and a track off the Bitter Days Ahead comp.

As I write this, I’ve been told it’s going to be a couple of weeks before it’s available. Be sure to get a copy from Ghost City Records when it comes out.
